What do these colored leg bands on my ducks/geese mean?

If you ordered specifically male or female waterfowl, our packager will mark the genders so that you know which is which when they arrive. If you order straight-run (random gender) ducks or geese, they will not have leg bands at all.

Ducks:

Females have green, yellow, blue, orange or white bands

Males have purple, red, purple & red or black bands

Geese:

Males will have the band on their right leg

Females will have the band on their left leg

These legbands are designed to fall off after a week or two, but can sometimes stay on longer. If you notice they are still on after two weeks, it would be good to gently remove those so that they don't out grow the bands.
